Greece has become a leader among the foreign destinations for tourists from St. Petersburg

“This year Greece has taken the leading position among the list of foreign destinations for the tourists from St. Petersburg, ahead of Bulgaria and Cyprus”, - said the director of the Northwest regional branch of the Russian Union of Travel Industry Ekaterina Shadskaya. “About 230 thousand inhabitants of St.Petersburg have rested in Greece. The increase is 44% against the previous year. That is quite significant figure, if we’ll take into account that the general decline in outcoming sector is about 25 % ", - said E.Shadskaya. "Of course, the absence of Turkish direction played its role in it, and we are expecting that in the coming year the tourist flow to Greece will not fall with the opening of Turkey”, - added E.Shadskaya.
