Goa prepares to receive Russian tourists
In the next ten days, the Indian government must take a decision on the returning of foreign tourists to the country. At the moment, the leaders of the Indian Ministry of the Interior are discussing with all interested parties the proposed date and conditions for opening the country to foreign tourists.
The Prime Minister of the resort state of Goa, Pramod Savant, has already expressed hope that the government will soon allow charter flights to Goa. “Goa government is interested in starting all activities related to tourism, and in the near future we will make a decision on its launch,” he stressed.
“We have to start tourism without waiting for the end of the pandemic, and if we have 100% vaccination, people will be happy to come to Goa. Goa government has sent a letter to the Union's Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs asking for special permission to authorize charter flights to the tourist state. First of all, we are talking about charters from Russia and Europe,” Mr. Savant added.
As the Indian Minister of Science and Technology Michael Lobo emphasized, charter tour operators from Russia have already met with Mr. Savant, as well as the Minister of Tourism Manohar Ajgaonkar and other responsible persons and asked them to obtain permission from the Government of India to authorize charter flights.
