From January to April, more than 710 thousand Russian tourists visited Turkey

According to statistics from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the country, over the first four months of the year Turkey was visited by 710.3 thousand Russian tourists, of which 391.6 thousand came in April. 

“From January to April, 710.3 thousand Russian tourists visited Turkey, which is 35% more than in the same period a year earlier. At the same time, only in April, 391.6 thousand Russians came to the country (+ 34% compared to April last year)” the document says. 

The Russians occupied the third position in terms of the number of arrivals in Turkey for the first four months of the year, they are only after the Germans (803.5 thousand) and the Bulgarians (738.8 thousand).  

In total, for the first four months of the year, 8.7 million foreign travelers visited Turkey (3.3 million people arrived in April). The number of tourists increased by 12% against the last year,  

Among foreign tourists the most popular were such destinations as Istanbul (50%), Antalya (16.7%), Edirne (12.2%), Artvin (6.3%) and Mugla (1.8%). 

Last year, almost 6 million Russians visited Turkey, and the number of tourists increased by 27.3%.
