Flights abroad became available to residents of three more cities in Russia
Rosaviatsia informed the airlines about the opening of three more Russian cities for international flights. The new rule took effect from August 20. Now this means expanding the flight program only to Turkey (the flights to Tanzania and Great Britain from the regions are not planned yet).
“In accordance with the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation, the list of points from which international flights have been resumed to foreign states includes: Kazan, Kaliningrad and Novosibirsk. The flights of Russian and foreign airlines can be operated from August 20,” the Federal Air Transport Agency said in a statement published on the evening of August 20.
As part of the first stage, the flights to Istanbul, Antalya, Dalaman, Bodrum, London and Zanzibar from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Rostov-on-Don were opened.
So far, air carriers have not announced the opening of new flights. The statement does not say about the opening of new routes of flights abroad.
It is expected that this week (presumably on August 21) Rosaviatsia will announce the opening of flights to Yerevan, Chisinau and, possibly, other points in the CIS. The flights will be allowed to operate from September 1.
Experts expect the next stage of lifting the restrictions from September 10. This list is expected to open flights to the UAE. But so far this data has not been documented.
