Experts: a third of self-traveling Russians went abroad in the summer of 2017
The share of foreign travel among all trips of Russians in the summer of 2017 increased by 32%, according to the analysis of tickets search resource Aviasales. "In the summer of 2016 the share of air travel in Russia amounted 80% of the total number of bookings, this year the ratio of domestic and international flights is 68% and 32% respectively", - said PR-service Director Janis Dzenis. He also noted that an increase of the share of out coming tourism does not mean stagnation on the domestic routes. According to Aviasales statistics, air tickets on internal routs of Russia were sold by 53% more than in the same period of the last year. The most popular were traditionally Crimea, Moscow, Sochi, Anapa, Gelendzhik, St. Petersburg and Krasnodar. "Among the popular foreign destinations, our experts note Moldova, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Italy, Spain and Bulgaria. In general, bookings of international flights rose by 63% for a year period. The most growing international destination was Turkey - bookings doubled. Montenegro, which in recent years was in the TOP 10, this summer left it despite on the growth of bookings by 23%. Montenegro was displaced by Bulgaria, which showed an increase by 57%", - added J. Dzenis.
