Demand for trips to Europe in early May increased by 30%
“Tour operators note an increase of demand by 30% in early May for travel to Europe”, - told the Press secretary of the Russian Union of Travel Industry Irina Tyurina.
"It's almost impossible to find air tickets to all European destinations, the flow has increased by one and a half times in comparison with the last year. There are very expensive tickets left in the search systems, and block seats are sold a long time ago", - said the Deputy General Director of Vand Travel company Natalya Minorsky. First of all, according to her information, Spain, Italy and Greece are in demand.
The Head of advertising department of PAC Group Nadezhda Naidis also noted the deficiency of suggestions. According to her, the demand for trips for May holidays increased by 30% against the last year.
According to the tour operators, this year the travelers try to cut spending for May holidays, they are asking the cheapest accommodation.
PR-director of Tez Tour company Larisa Akhanova said, that excursions tours to Europe for the May dates are less popular than beach destinations. The Russian tourists choose countries with a sea coast, such as Greece, Cyprus, Italy. "In general, the increase of demand is 25-30% against the figures of 2016. European destinations are more in demand in the format of family recreation with children", - she noted.
Previously, the General Director of Intourist Viktor Topolkaraev said, that in 2017 an out coming tourist flow from Russia could grow by 30%.
