Croatia expects a 50% increase of the Russian tourist flow
Croatia plans to host 200 thousand Russian tourists in 2018. These expectations are supported by the increasing volume of tour operators in Croatia in the summer season 2018. The activity of early booking for a number of players exceeds the last year's indicators by 30-100% - tourists are trying to buy the hotels which will soon stand on the "stop." As previously reported, Croatia showed a good growth in 2017 when the country was visited by more than 133 thousand Russian tourists (+11% against 2016). The dynamics of growth on the Russian market is almost twice higher than in 2016 (+ 6%). According to Kristjan Stanichich, the Head of the Croatian Tourist Community (HTZ), the country’s goal in 2018 is to host more than 200 thousand Russian tourists (+ 15% against 2017). According to PAX tour operator, at present the demand for Croatia in comparison with the last year increased by 25-30%. Russian Express operator notes a two fold increase of the volume of Croatia's early sales against the last year. The company believes that tourists became more active during early booking campaign. The main demand among tourists at the early booking stage focus at Rovinj, Porec, Umag, Brela, Makarska and Sibenik. The average duration of tours for the clients of most tour operators in this season is 10-14 nights.
