Bulgaria is ready to compete with Turkey and Egypt in 2017

“In 2017 Bulgaria is ready to compete with Turkey and Egypt, when this destination will be opened to Russians”, - said Bulgaria's tourism attaché in Russia Katia Zhekova. "Turkey and Egypt are Bulgaria's competitors on the Russian market, but each direction has its own audience. Practice shows that for those tourists, who know Bulgaria well or at least come to us once, the country becomes a popular destination. Last year, the absence of Turkey and Egypt on the market has allowed many tourists, who have never rested earlier in Bulgaria, to open this direction for themselves. And I think, that most of them will return", - said K.Zhekova at the Spring-Summer'17 conference, organized by tour operators Coral Travel and Sunmar. She noted, that Bulgaria is popular among Russians as a destination for family holidays. In addition, the Russian tourist business, she said, is interested in the prospects of the development of children's organized recreation in the country. Last summer, Bulgaria noted an increase of tourist flow from Russia by 40%. In Ministry of Tourism of Bulgaria, Russia was named as one of the most important markets. In the summer 2017 Bulgaria expects an increase of the number of Russian tourists by another 40%.
