Bulgaria awaits increase of Russian tourist flow by almost a quarter in winter time
“Bulgaria predicts an increase of Russian tourist flow to the ski resorts this winter by 24%”,- according to the data of Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
The Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria Nikolina Angelkova said, that on the basis of applications filed by foreign carriers, Bulgaria is hoping for a significant influx of foreign tourists. Thus, the flow of tourists from Russia is expected to grow by 24%, from Israel - 20%, from Ireland - by 74%.
"Totally, in the winter season the foreign tourist flow to Bulgaria will increase from 4.5% to 5% against the same period of the last year. Only in November-December Bulgaria expects at least 800 thousand foreign guests", - reported ATOR.
From April to September Bulgaria was visited by 531 thousand Russian tourists, which is 22% more than in 2015. In total, according to the results of the summer season, the country has established a tourist record, hosting more than 5 million foreign visitors from June to September This is 18% more than last year.
