Belarus and Indonesia agree on direct flights

Belarus and Indonesia have agreed to establish direct air links. The announcement came from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Jakarta on July 2, 2026, following high-level talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.  

"I thank you for today's decisions to open an embassy, to introduce visa-free travel for our citizens, and to launch direct flights," Lukashenko stated. The agreement adds Indonesia to Belarus's growing roster of long-haul destinations, offering a seamless, comfortable journey from Minsk to the heart of the archipelago.  Recently, Belarusians must obtain an Indonesian visa electronically or upon arrival — a requirement that was reinstated in March 2020 amid pandemic restrictions. The new agreements aim to ease these barriers, fostering closer ties between the two nations.

For Belarusian travelers, the timing couldn't be better. Currently, flights from Minsk to Jakarta typically start at around $692 (≈ 52,000 RUB)** for one-way tickets and **$1,667 (≈ 126,000 RUB) for round trips. Routes to Bali's Denpasar airport are similarly priced, with round-trip fares beginning at $1,683 (≈ 127,000 RUB). The new direct service is expected to significantly reduce travel time and costs, which currently involve at least one stopover with airlines like Air China or Flydubai.  

Tour operators are already seeing the potential. "A direct flight to Indonesia would be another step in expanding the range of long-haul destinations with a comfortable direct flight from Minsk," commented a representative from the travel company "Voyazhtur."
