ATOR: Turkey, Greece and Cyprus are the leaders of demand for the May holidays among Russians

“Turkey, Greece and Cyprus became the leaders of tour sales for May holidays. The resorts of Russia are on the fifth position”, - said the Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze. "For the May holidays the leaders are the beach destinations: Turkey, Greece and Cyprus. In the regions beyond the Urals - Thailand is on the first place. Czech Republic is also in the TOP 5 although this country is excursion direction. Russia is on the fifth place. Among domestic destinations the leading positions have Krasnodar Region and Crimea, then Moscow and St. Petersburg", - underlined Lomidze. According to her, the tour operators are reporting about sales boom for the May holidays. "Although the price never decreases on these dates, we are noting the increase of sales by 30% against the last year", - she added. According to the opinion of the Executive Director of ATOR, such results can hardly be called as a "rehearsal" of the summer season. But in general, the May holidays have confirmed the general trend of revival of out coming market and the preservation of positive dynamics on the domestic one.
