ATOR: the Russian tourists are choosing Finland in northern Europe for the New Year holiday
“The demand for holidays in Finland for New Year's holidays among Russian tourists is higher than for tours to the other Nordic countries at this time of the year”, - according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR). According to ATOR the demand as a whole for tours to the northern Europe remained at the same level of the last year. According to the tour operators, the interest of Russians to Finland is stipulated by family-friendly features: ski resorts, possibility to visit Santa Claus and other winter activities, which are organized mainly in Russian by the host companies in the country. Finland is sold better than the other Nordic countries, the growth was quite significant in this direction. As for Sweden and Norway – there are mainly individual orders. As explained in ATOR, almost all the tours to Finland are sold today. According to the company Aviasales, Finland became more popular among Russian travelers on the average by 34%. The number of Norwegian bookings grew by 63% against the last winter.
