Antalya: September tourist flow from Russia was less than last year
According to Turkish official statistics, the Russian tourist flow to the resorts of Antalya province in September 2023 decreased compared to the same month in 2022. Tour operators confirm this trend, noting that the decrease in demand compared to last year is caused primarily by rising prices for tours and the volatility of the ruble.
Over 9 months of 2023, 2,89 million (unfortunately, a more precise figure is not specified) tourists from Russia came to Antalya. In January-September, Germany took the second place in Antalya in terms of tourist flow with 2,59 million tourists, followed by Great Britain with 1,09 million. Next, in descending order of the number of trips, are Poland, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Romania, Israel and the Czech Republic.
The number of Russian tourists who came to Antalya in September 2023 can also be calculated. According to previous data, over 8 months of 2023, 2 379 216 Russians arrived in Antalya.
Consequently, in September 2023, 510,8 thousand tourists from the Russian Federation came to the resorts of this province. This is 2,8% less than in August 2023, but most importantly, it is 6,1% less than in September last year.
Last year, September was the most successful month for Antalya in terms of Russian tourist flow for the entire 2022. This year it is worse than both July and August.
In September 2022, the minimum price for a 10-day tour to Antalya was $ 985 for two persons with flight and on all-inclusive basis, and in September 2023 it was already $ 1 360 (an increase of ruble prices over the year is 38%).
