Antalya is waiting for up to 2.5 million Russian tourists

The hoteliers of Antalya, the Turkey's most popular resort, plan to host from 2 to 2.5 million of Russian tourists in this year. By their estimation, the reason for such a favorable prognosis is the Turkey's leadership on the Russian market at the stage of early booking. The Turkish resorts now account about 50% of total bookings, and the depth of sales comes to October. In the last year, the resorts of Antalya coast were visited by 500 thousand Russian tourists, which is 7 times less, than it was in 2015. Totally, by the end of 2016 Turkey was visited by 866 thousand Russians, which is 76.26% less, than in 2015 (3.65 million Russian tourists). In this season, Antalya is waiting for 7.5 to 8 million foreign tourists. This forecast was made by the President of the Association of Professional Hoteliers of Turkey Hakan Duran. According to him, the growth in the number of foreign visitors will be 30% against the last year.
