Anex Tour has launched charter flights to the Maldives
The growing demand in Russia for holidays on the Maldivian islands is encouraging tour operators not only to use regular flights. Anex Tour opened sales of tours on charter flights with business-class to the Maldives. Tui Russia also took a block of seats on these flights.
According to Anna Tkachenko, the head of the Maldivian department of Anex Tour, on July 24 the tour operator started selling tour packages with a charter flights to Male for the New Year's dates.
The charter chain Moscow - Male of Azur Air is scheduled from December 24, 2019 till January 11, 2020. Duration of the tours is designed for 10 nights. The tickets for the boards will be sold by Anex Tour (the flight consolidator) and Tui Russia (the company took a block of seats on these flights).
The new charter product of Anex Tour is the result of growing demand for the destination. According to Anna Tkachenko, over the past year more than 20 new hotels have been opened on the Maldivian islands. At the same time, 5* hotels of high level are opened and to enter on the Russian market the hotels propose many special offers. At present time, the demand for Maldives is steadily growing: in 2019, Anex Tour’s sales already exceed by 2 times the same period of 2018.
The active growth of the Maldivian destination began in 2017: the increase of the Russian tourist flow to the Maldives was 33.1% in annual terms in 2017, and in 2018 the growth amounted to 14.5%. In total, in 2018 70,935 tourists from the Russian Federation arrived on the Maldivian islands.
In the first half of 2019, the flow of tourists from Russia to the Maldives grew by almost 12% compared to the same period of 2018, and 42,929 Russian tourists visited the Maldives this year.
Thus, now the range of tours to the Maldives from Anex Tour is presented both on charter and on regular flights in the period from 24.12.2019 till 11.01.2020. According to the tour operator's booking system, 7 flights are scheduled for this period: 2 Azur air flights and 5 Aeroflot flights (guaranteed blocks).
