Airlines of Russian Federation increased abroad transportation by 37% for seven months
“For seven months of 2017 Russian airlines increased volume of transportation by 20%, on international lines by 37%”, - said Svetlana Petrova, Director of the Department of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transport. "Over the seven months of this year Russian airlines transported 20% passengers more against the last year’s figure. Among all the passengers about 23 million were served on international routes (37% growth) and 35 million passengers were transported on domestic ones (13% growth). These results allow us to predict the achievement of a mark of 100 million passengers in this year. Such indicators have not yet been in the history of Soviet and Russian civil aviation", - added Petrova. Last year Russian airlines transported 88.6 million people, 3.8% less than a year earlier. The decrease in passenger traffic was connected with the stop of operation of the second largest airline of Russian Federation – Transaero, the closure of several international destinations and the drop in demand for air transportation.
