About 3,5 million Russians will visit Antalya by the end of 2023
Antalya has published its tourist flow statistics from January to November 2023. The Russian tourist flow over 11 months became 15% more than in the same period in 2019, although November alone showed a decrease of 35,3% compared to last year.
According to the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Turkish province of Antalya, 404 thousand 946 tourists came to its resorts in November, which is 0,7% more than in November last year.
The first place in the number of foreign tourists in Antalya in November belongs to Germany (118 thousand), the second place - to Russia (80 thousand tourists). In the third place is the UK with 44 thousand tourists, followed by Poland (less than 17 thousand tourists) and the Netherlands (almost 6 thousand).
The Russian tourist flow to Antalya in November decreased by 35,3% compared to the same month in 2022 (123 686 Russians arrived in Antalya in November last year). The opening of other mass winter beach destinations with charter transportation for Russians (i.e., increased competition) contributed to the reduction in tourist flow.
As per the winter schedule, tourists can get from Russia to Antalya on direct flights from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Ufa, Novosibirsk, Sochi, Mineralnye Vody and Makhachkala. Charters and block transportation of tour operators are available only from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan and Ufa.
Based on the results of 11 months of 2023, Russia is in the first place in terms of the volume of trips to Antalya. The flow of tourists to Antalya from the Russian Federation in January-November 2023 increased by 15% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 3 million 401 thousand. The share of Russians in the total number of tourists for 11 months in Antalya is 23,4%, that is, almost every fourth tourist at the resorts of this province this year is from Russia. The forecast for the Russian tourist flow for the entire 2023 is about 3,5 million tourists.
