4.7 million Russian tourists rested in Turkey in 2017
“About 4.7 million Russian tourists have rested in Turkey last year, more than in the most successful 2014”, - informed Hürriyet Daily News quoting the President of the Mediterranean Association of Hoteliers and Hotel Managers (ACTORS) Erkan Yaggi. According to him, in 2017 32 million foreign tourists visited Turkey, 10 million of them visited Antalya. The increase of the number of foreign guests at the main Turkish resort amounted 56%. He stressed that Turkish hoteliers should not deter tourists from Russia by raising prices. "We have to achieve a good balance between the affordable price and the quality of the service. It would be unreasonable to raise prices sharply, they should grow gradually", - the President of ACTOV said. Up to now 2014 was considered as the best year of Russian tourism in Turkey – that year the country, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was visited by 4.5 million tourists from Russia. In 2015 3.3 million Russians came to Turkey and for the same period of 2016 - only 544 thousand people. After the opening of the direction the Turkish hoteliers offered favorable prices to Russian tourists and the tourist flow quickly began to recover.
