Rosturizm called tax on out coming tourists as a violation of citizens' rights
“Rosturizm stands not in favor to introduce a tax for tourists traveling abroad, proposed earlier by representatives of tourism industry of the Crimea and Sevastopol. The introduction of such tax infringes the rights and freedoms of Russian citizens and it is unjustified protectionist measure”, - said the head of the Federal Tourism Agency Oleg Safonov.
“The introduction of such a tax would lead to deterioration in the quality of service and could lead to a reduction both out coming and domestic tourist flow. Artificial restrictions of market competition and unreasonable protectionist measures will lead to the fact that representatives of the tourist industry will lose their incentive to improve service quality and service level, to develop infrastructure and optimal pricing”, - the point of view of the Federal Tourism Agency.
“Ultimately, this will negatively affect on the Russian tourists, who will receive at home services of lower quality for a higher price, and it can run a very negative scenario of socio-economic development of Russia, where not only out coming tourist flow, but also the internal will reduce", - Safonov adds.
