It became known - will Turkey subsidize tour operators
Turkey in the season-2019 does not plan to subsidize tour operators, which arrange charter flights. This was told by the general director of ELA Quality Resort Belek Ufuk Gezgin on March 13.
“Last year Turkey paid 6,000 Euros for each plane with tourists. It was necessary to reduce the spending of tour operators - both Russian and European. This year this will not happen. The demand for a holiday in Turkey is very high,” he explained.
Thus, Russian tourists do not have to count on discounts from customers of the flight program to Turkey or from hoteliers who have already offer tariffs significantly higher than last year.
The head of the marketing department of AKKA Hotels chain (Antalya), Kutay Aigul, confirmed a serious interest in Turkey from EU tourists this year. According to her, in 2019 the Turkish price lists for them do not seem high.
She recalled that with the appearance of the new Minister of Tourism in Turkey, monetary settlements with foreign partners are carried out in Euros. In August last year there was a serious jump in exchange rates in the country, in connection with which the prices of certain goods increased by 2 times. “Hotels were simply forced to raise tariffs. We now have very high VAT, gasoline prices. There will be elections in March, after which another jump in euro and dollar is expected,” comments Kutay Aygul. According to her, there is no sense to wait for a new price increase or decrease in hotels.
However, as it became known earlier, some luxury hotels still ready to prolong the early booking action.
