It became known how much the Russians spend during holidays abroad
Last year, Russian spending during tourist travel came close to $ 35 billion. These figures were announced at the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) congress, which was held in Seville, Spain.
The average price for a trip is about $ 900. As a rule, it is payment for a flight, transfer and hotel accommodation. At the same time, the spending at the travel point often approach to a similar amount, thus doubling the amount of all the expenses.
This correlates with data from other studies, in particular, Sberbank, according to which last summer the average spending of the Russians, paying by bank cards abroad, amounted to 67 thousand Rubles ($ 1,038) for a trip. At the same time, as a similar study of the international operator of VISA bank cards shows, the volume of expenses grows, despite the crisis. Thus, from January 1 to January 10 of this year, the Russians spent about 20 billion Rubles abroad, which is 1 billion more than a year earlier, and 4 billion more than in January 2017.
At the same time, from year to year the number of residents of our country who spend holidays abroad is decreasing. Last year, according to VTsIOM (the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center), they were 6%, which is 1% less than in 2017. It is not surprising - the incomes of the population continue to decline, fewer people can afford to rest abroad.
The authors of the WTTC study also analyzed opportunities for the development of inbound tourism in Russia. Their results were disappointing - Moscow is among the worst cities for travel, where the tourist infrastructure is just emerging, the level of tourism development is slow, the concentration of guests is low, but there are opportunities for growth.
