ATOR: in 2018 Russian tourists spent about 60 thousand rubles for traveling
The average cost of tours purchased by Russian travelers last year was about 60 thousand Rubles ($ 864). This was stated by the executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze.
“If we talk about the cost of average tours in Russia or foreign countries, which the Russians order, usually people buy budget tours with a short flight and a minimum of additional services and excursions, in the price range of 50–60 thousand Rubles ($ 720 – 864) per person. This is the average price of a week of rest in a hotel of three or four stars” she said.
At the same time, Ms. Lomidze noted that the most popular budget resorts last year were the Krasnodar Territory, Crimea and Turkey, where the average cost of one trip per person was 25-30 thousand Rubles ($ 360 – 432).
“Following the results of the year, we see a bright trend - the average consumer’s segment has almost gone into the budget one. At the same time, the luxury segment is not growing steadily and is not declining - the number of consumers has practically not changed. But the total volume of travelers, according to our estimates, remained at about the same level as last year. All this is connected with the purchasing power of tourists,” explained the executive director of ATOR.
