Sochi, Tbilisi and Prague are the leading destinations, where Russians will go for the November holidays. The TOP-5 also includes Dubai and Bangkok. This information was reported by air ticket agencies. We may add that this year, on the occasion of the Day of National Unity, the Russians are waiting for three days in succession - from November 3 till November 5. Obviously, those who plan to make at these days a trip to the UAE and Thailand, added to the holidays a few more days of rest.
"Russians use an extra day to extend their vacation in far countries - for example, in the countries of South-East Asia", - confirms the representative of the search service Momondo.
As Biletix’s experts note, the volume of early sales of air tickets for long weekend is less by 27% than in the same period of 2017. Although, the total number of booking of November holidays this year increased both on foreign (+13%, according to Aviasales resource) and on internal destinations (+ 25%). Observers associate such a picture with an unstable economic situation. Due to the fluctuation of ruble exchange rate many holidaymakers decided to travel later than before.
It is interesting, the number of tourists wishing to spend a mini vacation abroad has increased. And this despite the fact that the average cost of tickets abroad for holiday dates increased by 17% - up to 177 Euros for round trip.
Prague got the most impressive influx of independent travelers. According to OneTwoTrip service, the demand for tickets to the capital of Czech Republic increased by 18%. At the same time, the positions of a number of other European cities, on the contrary, have weakened. So, the Russians bought 15% less tickets to Berlin than a year earlier. Also, Amsterdam lost 12% of Russian tourists and Rome - 3%.
At the same time, market participants do not exclude that the picture can change closer to holidays. "We expect that most of air tickets will be bought a week before the holidays", - say the representatives of the Kupibilet company.
