Since August 27, the low cost airline Wizz Air will launch direct scheduled flights from the northern capital to Budapest and back. According to the representatives of the Russian and Hungarian tourist industry, a direct flight will promote the growth of tourist traffic in both directions.
The flights will be performed twice a week by A320 aircraft. The cost of one way tickets, including all taxes, starts from 30 Euros.
The indirect passenger traffic from St. Petersburg to Budapest in 2016 amounted 11.5 thousand people. The main transit airports for travelers were Sheremetyevo, Riga and Frankfurt.
As "Vestnik ATOR" reported earlier, Hungary in this season is one of the popular abroad destination. The growth of the tourist flow to Hungary is estimated by 20%. In the northern capital the demand for tours to Hungary increased almost twice against the last year. In the top of the demand are sightseeing tours, also medical and health tourism to the Heviz resort and other thermal resorts of the country.
