“Only 4% of Russians are going to spend their vacation this summer abroad, whereas last year this number was 6%”, - said the Head of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center Valery Fedorov.
"Last year 6% of respondents told us that they intend to spend their vacation abroad. If there was not a fall of the Ruble exchange rate, I'm sure that this share would not be lower. But this figure was lower – only 4%", - reported V. Fedorov at a press conference in Moscow, presenting the results of a sociological study devoted to the preferences of Russians for the upcoming holiday season.
“However, not significant proportion of Russian citizens intending to relax this summer in abroad countries, in fact - it's several million tourists”, - said the sociologist.
"Turkey has not disappeared and Egypt has not disappeared. On the contrary, these directions are returning. The number of those who intend to spend this year their vacation abroad (in the far abroad) is about 4 and a half million people".
The study was conducted in May among 2000 respondents, aged 18 and over, in 500 cities and 100 villages in 80 Russian regions.
