“Demand for tours to Europe from the cities of Siberia began to grow after a serious recession”, - reported the publication of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RCT) Rata News, citing data from representatives of the tourist industry.
“This summer, for the first time after a serious recession, the regional tourist industry marks a noticeable revival of demand for Europe. And in the absence of direct programs tourists from Siberian cities fly to rest by regular flights, most often, with connection in Moscow”, - the newspaper writes.
In the summer 2017 on Novosibirsk market there are only direct charters to Greece and Cyprus. Additionally, Europe is represented by regular flights to Bulgaria (Burgas), Prague and a number of German cities. In Omsk there are charters to Crete, Cyprus and to Thessaloniki.
Greece is sold with good depth - it is already difficult to find places for flights in August, September flights are fully loaded. In addition, according to tour operators, there is a growing demand for countries where there is no direct transportation. According to Novosibirsk office of "Tez Tour", the volume of bookings of European destinations by tourists from Siberia exceeded the indicators of 2015 and 2016. On the leading position are Spain, Greece, Cyprus and Italy.
Director of the Novosibirsk tour operator “Globus Tour” Elena Lukyanova said that the company is noting an increase of sales of tours to Czech Republic by 30%, to Italy - by 15-20%. In other European directions, the situation is at least as good as in the last year.
The Head of sales department of Novosibirsk branch of “Carlson Tourism”, Olga Petrova confirmed the trend, noted that the demand for Italy has increased significantly, as well as for Greece and Spain.
“Tourists from Siberia, who choose beach rest and have budget limitations, are more active in booking South-East Asia and Turkey. But, following after the growth of demand, the tourist business next year should think about expanding of the tourist’s range”, - the newspaper writes.
