Fans of World Cup 2018 will not have problems with accommodation in hotels

“During the period of World Cup in Russia fans will not have problems with accommodation in hotels and private sector. The prices for accommodation will also be balanced closer to the date of competition”, - said Maya Lomidze the Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

"This morning “Match Accommodation” company announced that it releases unsold rooms in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Sochi and other cities where matches will be held. That means that in the next few days there will be a review of the average market price for accommodation for the dates of the competition. It is unclear how much the price will be changed, but the cost will definitely change", - she stressed, recalling that 1.7 million tickets were sold for matches including about half to foreign fans.

In M.Lomidze's opinion, there will be no problems with providing hotel rooms to fans.

The competition will allow to balance hotels’ prices and increase the load for all facilities. The private sector not only in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but also in the other cities will also host fans as the hotels. The prices in the private sector are often lower.

According to the expert, the problems are likely to arise after the championship with the loading of the new facilities.

"There is enough quantity of newly built hotels in Rostov or Saransk or another city. Another question is who accommodate at these hotels after WC", - the ATOR representative added.

For the first time the Football World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15, 2018. Matches will be held at 12 stadiums in 11 cities of Russia: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod and Yekaterinburg.
