“The number of Russian tourists in southeast regions of Finland is constantly growing. It is expected that by the end of 2017 the Russians will make more than 2.6 million trips to the southeast regions of Finland, which is almost 10% more than in 2016”, - informs the portal YLE.

According to the information of the portal, at present time the popularity of North Karelia (the region in Eastern Finland) is growing among Russian tourists.

According to YLE, after a noticeable decline in 2015 the number of travels and a volume of money, spent by Russians during the trip, is growing again.

The portal specifies that most of all this dynamic connects with increasing exchange rate of the Ruble. By the end of 2017, during their trips the Russian tourist spent an average about 235 Euros per person, which is 60 Euro more than the average amount in the previous two years and almost the same for 2014.

As reported, Finland was included in the TOP 5 of most popular directions among Russians. The tourist flow there increased by 18%, from 1.26 million to 1.54 trips.
