“The demand for tours to South Korea this autumn increased by 30% an average due to the active work of the National Tourism Organization of Korea (NOTC) to promote the country and the upcoming Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang”, - according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
"The leading tour operators, working with South Korean direction, note a significant increase in bookings for tours to the country this autumn. Carlson Tourism operator notes the growth of the direction about 10-15%. Pax tour operator says about 50% growth of bookings”, - ATOR informs.
According to the Association, the demand has increased due to the "significant contribution" of NOTC in promoting of South Korea in Russia as a tourist destination.
So, according to the Association, in the first half of 2017 156 thousand Russian tourists visited Korea. This is 18% more than in the same period of 2016. At the same time, most Russian citizens, 26.7 thousand people, visited South Korea in April, exceeding the figures for the same month in 2016 by 23%.
Among tourists combined tours are in great demand. Russians combine sightseeing tours with beach rest, often visit South Korea, Japan and Guam in the framework of single trip.
