“The Ministry of Tourism of India will conduct an advertising campaign of its country in Russia as a tourist destination. Additionally, it pay 50% of India's advertising, which will be published by Russian tour operators”, - said the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) on Wednesday with reference to the Ministry's representative.
"India's Ministry of Tourism is now considering the organization of a promotional campaign of India as a tourist destination on the Russian market. We already have offers from several agencies that include conducting a promotional campaign using Internet resources, street billboards, advertising materials at public transport of Moscow", - said Deputy Director of the representative office of Indian Ministry of tourism in Europe, Russia and CIS countries Ajit Pal Singh at a meeting with tour operators.
According to him, the Ministry plans to hold this year Festival of India in Moscow, a series of seminars for travel agents and large scale tourist B2B event.
In addition, India's Ministry of Tourism is ready to finance 50% of the cost of producing information and promotional materials (catalogs) dedicated to India as a tourist destination.
"Representatives of tour operators, in turn, emphasized the Ministry's attention to the fact that the development of the direction in Russia additionally would be helped by such measures as reducing the cost of an electronic visa or introducing a simplified visa regime.
According to Rosstat (state statistic agency of Russia), from January to June 86.7 thousand Russian tourists visited India, which is 28% more than the year before. India is in the TOP 20 of the most popular destinations among Russians.
